Eat, Drink & Play in Penticton, BC, Canada

Eat, SUP and explore Penticton wine and the Naramata wine bench.

I’ve often said, Penticton is my favourite place to wine tour, particularly because of its proximity to the Naramata wine bench. It is both picturesque and populated with quality wineries and vineyards. If you are coming to the Okanagan to taste wine you’ll probably want to start there for its food and slower pace of life.

Eat, SUP and explore Penticton wine and the Naramata wine bench. This is the ideal Okanagan getaway in British Columbia, Canada! - The Wanderfull Traveler ~ Life and food in the Okanagan wine region of British Columbia and beyond.

An ideal Penticton getaway for me involves plenty of wine tasting, SUP (stand up paddle boarding) and touring all the restaurants. You can find my latest favourites in the video above and be sure to take notes!

Each time I return to Penticton there’s something new to taste. This time I made it a focus to give the new Elma, a Turkish-inspired restaurant on the waterfront was an absolutely delight. Flavourful tapas dishes shared between two with expertly crafted cocktails in a very stylish and chic dining room. Nothing disappoints, not even for my picky husband!

Tratto Pizza is also a must stop. Get ready to get your fingers a little messy and cut the pizza with their scissors. But the true gem of the trip was the Naramata wine bench, as always, and in particular the Naramata Inn now owned by Vancouver chef Ned Bell and his culinary team.

Penticton wine and the Naramata wine bench are what draws us to the area each year and as with the food, I had to try new wineries unfamiliar to me. This time we ventured to the family owned Mocojo and Four Shadows. Both were excellent in presentation and quality of wine. The Daydreamer winery is the highest winery on the bench and perhaps in the Okanagan. It’s view and quiet vibe away from the hustle of the city is a lovely reprieve as are their wines.

Tell me where do you like to go in the Okanagan for a getaway?
